515031 2007-01-11 20:42:00 Hi ya'll.

Lately I've heard a few comments that LCD TV's and video games aren't a marriage made in heaven.....:groan:

I've got a 42" LCD, and kids with a PS2 who come and stay some weekends.

Even the guy that came to tune in my TV/DVD recorder made a throwaway comment along those lines, but when I enquired further he said there's no problems, just don't leave the game on "pause" for 24-hours due to screen burn!

I thought screen burn was a plasma problem??

So......would appreciate any comments please. Am I being paranoid?

I love my kids, but I also love my TV!!! :D I couldn't handle having to choose between the two :p

Cheers

you can always get new kids:rolleyes:
I do believe the burn in issues are with plasmas, and they don't appear to many issues with these days

515033 2007-01-12 02:06:00 i run my 360 on our 32" hd lcd and it all looks and runs sweet as.

Burn in afaik is a plasma problem but can affect lcds left on for extremely long amounts of time (as in the same picture for a few days without moving)

515034 2007-01-12 11:01:00 some games have static background
like um.. pre-rendered or something
so those might leave some screen burn...because the background stays the same while only the charactor move or something
i think i read this in ff7 manual aaages ago

but don't think there are lots of games that does that now..

515036 2007-01-13 15:25:00 it depends what response time your LCD TV is.

when it comes to games with PC's the FPS can cause some pretty bad ghosting with most LCD's above 8ms. But with PS2 and the likes, it wont be as bad as you don't get as smooth frames, so the ghosting wont appear as bad.
