2007-01-11 17:57:00 | lol and i found a cheap ripoff of an ipod on trademe (www.trademe.co.nz) free from apple software No doubt Apple Inc will send a legal Cease and Decist notice when they get wind of it as they have done with plenty of others in the past. motorbyclist how could you find the iPod hard to use ? I worked one out in about 30 seconds when it first saw it 3 years ago. It sounds like you have a very bad case of PEBKAC, and if you insist on putting the iPod in your back pocket and sitting down it will break. Duh:rolleyes: You can by 3rd party clips and other accessories to avoid having to put them in your pocket. ;)

2007-01-11 18:14:00 | aesthetics have very little bearing on quality, personally, ergronomics, durability, versatility, reliability and price should be of higher importance IMO Aesthetics when combined with perfomance, reliability and price make a great product. I noticed that there were a large number of Apple products on Amazon.com top ten best sellers list in the Christmas run up. :D ( If you did a bit of research you would find that Apple prices its computers towards the mid range of equivalent modeled PCs - in this country anyhow, At the higher end they are actually cheaper that a lot of highly spec'd PCs.) In the US they are noticeably cheaper. and the anti-trust case was on the basis that apple markets the ipod as an mp3 player, without mention of the itunes/istore issue. IMO That would be because the iPod plays music in MP3 format, which means you can download your music for FREE from Limewire ;) You say you only have 10GB of music, which would tell me that you dont listen to a wide variety of music. Fortunately music is a very personal thing and each person's music tastes vary and not everybody tends to like the other persons music choices.

2007-01-11 19:59:00 | The comment from motorbyclist that iPods are hard to use is unbelievable. Jeeez I'm over 60 and it only took me a few minutes to get my iPod loaded with music and playing. Don't think the Queen or the Pope would have had much of a problem with theirs either :) The newspapers idea of the Cost of running the new iPhone in NZ seems to be rather exaggerated at $100s per month. All my internet access is mobile via Vodafone ~ Phone at $19.95 per month and 1G data at $49.95 per moth plus gst. No landline. I would like the G3 coverage extended out of the main centers though. Pretty please vodafone :)

2007-01-11 20:28:00 | This is what the guys at PC Magazine think about the new iPhone "For the most, it was an absolute revelation. Seeing the device in action is one thingbut actually using it is another. Each application is impressive in its own right, from photo-management software to the Safari Web browser, but it's the overall touch-screen interface that takes the breath away. The only thing I had trouble using was the onscreen keyboardit's obviously the sort of thing that takes some practicebut it was impressive nonetheless." www.pcmag.com

2007-01-11 21:18:00 | well i was preparing my argument, but luckily metla more or less said what i had to say, but i'll say a bit anyway aesthetics have very little bearing on quality, personally, ergronomics, durability, versatility, reliability and price should be of higher importance i find the ipods difficult to use, and that the screen is very good at breaking due to it's size and location in my pocket. $80 mp3 player and then cellphone made getting a replacement pointless and the anti-trust case was on the basis that apple markets the ipod as an mp3 player, without mention of the itunes/istore issue. and i am aware that m$ has been sued many times under anti-trust laws, but it doesn't excuse apple (or anyone else) for what they've done. i don't know if apple won or lost either, mainly due to laziness coupled with indifference;) ipods have become fashion statements, which is a testament to our modern society who will pay more, without looking at alternatives, simply because of the label EDIT: and i don't know about you guys, but i only have 10GB of music, less than 3GB of which i actively listen to, so a 20/30/50GB player seems kinda excessive IMO just out of interest and off topic, what sort of motorbike do you ride
