| 514417 | 2007-01-11 10:22:00 | thats right there is something worse then a mac fanboy and that is a Metla fanboy I am happy to be accused of being a fan of a well designed product range that is simple and easy to use and generally not over priced as some would believe.:) |

| 514418 | 2007-01-11 10:24:00 | ave you checked the prices on any similar spec'd products by the competition? Only in the Apple/Ipod thread from a couple of weeks ago where the competing product was $120 cheaper and had a bigger better quality screen, reportedly better audio quality and maybe even a bigger HD. Cant say I have any personal interest in high end Mp3 players though. |

Possibly because they were desperately trying to clear the stock. As for much bigger hard drive, I doubt it. Apple is the biggest purchaser of hard drives for portable MP3 devices and Flash memory in the world. They are responsible for purchasing 20% of all Flash memory as supplied buy the biggest Flash memory suppliers in the world. They will have sold at least 15 million to 20 million iPod units world wide in the run up to Christmas 2006, 6 million of those were the latest 2gig Shuffle. The number 2 competitor which is possibly Creative or someone will be lucky to have sold 1 million units in the same time. |

| 514420 | 2007-01-11 10:38:00 | the way I see it the iPhone is a high range product aiming for the power user who probably already have a palm, pocket pc, blackberry or something along those lines. The prices for these devises start around the $600 upwards. so no I won't be getting, would I want one, no. I like to keep my devises seperate. The other product anounced by apple was tha appleTV, which i will definitely be having a closer look at when they come to shops in Feb. |

I have no personal use for one either, although I do have a couple of friends who may end up getting it when it becomes available. |

| 514422 | 2007-01-11 10:40:00 | Yeah, Honestly, I don't care in the slightest how many they have sold. Nor about your assumption that the "other" brand was on sale.Nor how you added the word "much" in relation to the HD. Nice set of spin I suppose though, Your so gushing I wouldn't be surprised if your embarrassing the rest of the Apple Fanboys and girls. |

| 514423 | 2007-01-11 10:47:00 | As for the iPhone, Depending on how resilient they are I may get one, Though I already have a phone that plays video's,Mp3's, email and websurfing so maybe not. Plus I have never used any of those features after the initial novelty wore off. A camera is a deal breaker though. The price isn't going to be a major, think my current phone cost near $800 |

| 514425 | 2007-01-11 11:23:00 | well i was preparing my argument, but luckily metla more or less said what i had to say, but i'll say a bit anyway aesthetics have very little bearing on quality, personally, ergronomics, durability, versatility, reliability and price should be of higher importance i find the ipods difficult to use, and that the screen is very good at breaking due to it's size and location in my pocket. $80 mp3 player and then cellphone made getting a replacement pointless and the anti-trust case was on the basis that apple markets the ipod as an mp3 player, without mention of the itunes/istore issue. and i am aware that m$ has been sued many times under anti-trust laws, but it doesn't excuse apple (or anyone else) for what they've done. i don't know if apple won or lost either, mainly due to laziness coupled with indifference;) ipods have become fashion statements, which is a testament to our modern society who will pay more, without looking at alternatives, simply because of the label EDIT: and i don't know about you guys, but i only have 10GB of music, less than 3GB of which i actively listen to, so a 20/30/50GB player seems kinda excessive IMO |
