725157 2008-12-12 04:31:00 some motherboards don't come with temp sensors or the bios as been written to ignore them. i think compaq/hp used to have a lot that did that. tweak'e (69)
725158 2008-12-14 21:11:00 To add to my woes I now have the infamous Vista Unidentified Network problem after updating the bios yesterday.

I am starting to think that the best fix would be to do a Grand Trashing and start again. That should help with identifying when the HDD problem happens if it comes back.

725159 2009-01-18 21:10:00 OK, to wrap this up I finally found the problem yesterday.

I finally got around to doing the Grand Trashing. No problems until I installed Wayfinder Maploader (a program that uploads maps to my mobile phone GPS navigation). Then everything went wild and the problem started again.

It appears that other people have seen the issue as well.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.
