514397 2007-01-11 00:48:00 Actually, M$ is quite complementary to Microsoft, given their stature on the financial front, however I imagine that in reality you were heading for complimentary but missed it by an i, which is quite i-ronic really.

Bit like saying the secret to McDonalds' success is quite alimentary. :D

Cheers

Minor typo on my behalf there Billy T ;) I guess M$ for Microsoft can be viewed as good or bad depending on your point of view.

Actually it is about the same size the Video capable iPod and just as slim. It also weighs about the same. If you think that looks big you should take a look at the Zune from Microsoft, THAT is a brick! And it definitely is not breaking any sales records.:D

514401 2007-01-11 04:26:00 Lets just say you get what you pay for.

Arse backwards and stupid, But nice anyway.

514402 2007-01-11 05:08:00 Not being tested in real life, it's also a premature, raising numerous questions that are now being un-smoked as the Machiavellian spell of Steve Job$' shapeshifter field fades .

Among the less arcane . . . . . .

* How resilient is the iPhone's screen? Is it more scratch resistant than those of its iPod predecessors; can it stand up to real-life use?
* When the iPhone arrives in June, it will support only EDGE, the "poor man's" data transmission technology . When will it support 3G?
* Given past issues with the iPod's "unreplaceable battery" (ergo: "Apple blames iPod battery problems on malfunctioning reality distortion field"), why does the iPhone feature a built-in battery? Who the hell wants to send their phone back to Apple Service every time it needs a new battery?
* How robust is the mobile version of OS X?

And finally, there are the omissions . . . . . . some of them really . . . . stupidly obvious:

No expandable memory .
No support for WiFi syncing to your PC :groan:
How about offering video iChat? :stare:
How's about wireless downloads from the iTunes Store?

(C'mon . . . this ain't rocket science here!)

514403 2007-01-11 06:35:00 Just read that about 20 min ago. I think Apple and Cisco still have a few specifics to sort out considering that the actual "iPhone" is not actually due for release for another 6 months. The name iPhone may or may not end up being the final name for Apple's product.

I think it is the final name, as apple US have now got a tab that say iPhone. They will look pretty unprofessional if they now lose the name becuase they didn't do enough research and buy the name, before actually using the name. Thats why I don't think that they were that stupid.

Oops . . . I definitely won't be forking out for a 'half-baked' (and slightly chewed) Apple phone :(

And Winmacguy . . . . me thinks you're a wee bit zealous promoting the wonderous plastic bits from the Big-A . . . not a reseller I hope :D

PS scuzzee Surferjoe . . . had to cut out the extra smilies etc
