725135 2008-12-06 07:05:00 I'm also concerned that something bad is going on that the two virus checkers cannot pick up. TWO virus checkers ?????
Thats prob half the problem - you CANNOT have two Antivirus programs , they usually fight one another - only have one Antivirus - but you can have several Antispyware programs.

725136 2008-12-06 07:58:00 wt-I think he's referring to 2 online antivirus apps, He only has 360 installed (I think)

sbowness-Could you download, install HijackThis and post a log here?
Do a scan with MalwareBytesAntiMalware and SpywareTerminator first, as Norton and adaware won't pick much up. I've found that online scanners suck too.

Update both and do a full scan.
Then post a log here

725137 2008-12-06 09:44:00 Scans showed nothing of concern. One tracking cookie and a dead-end registry setting for WMP11.

Here is the log file:

725138 2008-12-06 23:52:00 One more thing to have a look at is that it may be a scheduled task, like a background defrag.

Right click on my My Computer and select Manage. Expand the Task Scheduler and have a look at the many scheduled tasks. If you are lucky you may see one in the Running state.

725139 2008-12-07 02:53:00 There are four tasks running:

System Sounds Service
System Task
TMM
User Task

The System Task and User Task appear to be the Certificate Services Client Task Handler.

There was also one hidden task - the MsCtfMonitor.

Does that offer anything?

:)

I'm not convinced that this is a hardware issue. This does not happen in Safe Mode, therefore it must be software related. I have seen the same issue in other forums without an answer.
sbowness (14287)
725144 2008-12-07 19:18:00 Yes but all the same, Seagate should of had people with the same issue and should have an answer for you.
