725645 2008-12-03 22:26:00 Just thought I'd see what people are using and can recommend.

Now that Im working for somebody else, I cant just use Gmail (Oh man!)...

Not really to keen on Outlook, a little too big.. and I could go Thunderbird but I thought I'd see what else is out there first :)

I tried jbmail32 the other day, *super* light-weight which was nice, but a little too light-weight I think.

So yeah, aside from Thunderbird / Outlook (And dont even think of suggestion Outlook Express...), what else are people using out there? :)

725646 2008-12-03 22:34:00 Nothing wrong with OE

Eudora has a big following.

Pegasus Mail - developed by David Harris from NZ
www.pmail.com
Safari (3993)
725647 2008-12-03 22:35:00 If your going to be doing and bulk mail sends (especially with attachments) stay away from Thunderbird. DeSade (984)
725648 2008-12-03 22:48:00 Windows Mail :D

But Gmail can also act as an online client, so you don't have to dump it. :)

725649 2008-12-03 23:19:00 Yeah but it only checks every X minutes, which IIRC you cant define ... The more email you get the more frequently it supposedly checks.

Otherwise, I'd definitely stick with Gmail :D

725650 2008-12-04 00:02:00 OE/Windows Mail are just fine! :p

Whats wrong with them? Light and basic. Well OE is light anyway. I personally use Outlook but only because I need a calendar.

Exactly - been using OE for years and never had a problem.
Probably use it on my Mac as well if there was still a Mac version.

725652 2008-12-04 00:08:00 pegasus / windows mail / groupwise / Squirrel Mail depends where I am at the time beama (111)
725653 2008-12-04 00:31:00 OE/Win Mail is actually one of the easiest mail clients to configure, change settings add accounts etc that there is.
Thunderbird is good but I don't believe it deserves the reputation given to it by the many devotees
Safari (3993)
725654 2008-12-04 00:40:00 I use OE on my PC, and Mac Mail on my MacBook, also have a Hotmail and a Yahoo one too! No probs with OE.
