726302 2008-12-06 20:19:00 Hello i am trying to play world of warcraft but when it loads after i picked my character, i get this fatal error:

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR#132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:/World of Warcraft/WoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:00636134

The instruction at "0x00636134" referenced memory at "0x0000001C".
The memory could not be "read".

Press OK to terminate the application.

I had just finished updating the game the night before.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Thank You,

Lars.

726303 2008-12-06 20:30:00 Morning Lars

Have you tried running the repair tool located in your main WoW directory?

This is possibly not related but it never hurts to check
Are your video card drivers up to date?

726304 2008-12-06 20:45:00 ok, im running the repairs tool now. and my graphic driver is up to date. thanks for your suggestions LarsJohann (13010)
726305 2008-12-06 21:32:00 ok so i've repaired the entire thing and i still get the exact same error. so it seems to have nothing to do with the game itself... LarsJohann (13010)
726306 2008-12-06 21:54:00 Just been reading a bit about that - remove those patches / updates you put in, make sure you have the latest Video Drivers, and try updating your DirectX as well.

It seems the patches can be the cause of the problems.

Also do a RAM test - it could have a faulty module - to do this get Memtest86 (www.memtest86.com) unzip it then burn the ISO with your ISO burning section of your burner program or if you dont have one get BurnCDcc (www.terabyteunlimited.com) Second one down, install , open locate the ISO file, put a blank CD in the drive - burn the CD - then boot from it, let it run through at least twice - anything in red is a NO NO
