| 725974 | 2008-12-05 04:01:00 | My mainboard is a MS-6570 atx. it has ide1 and ide2 Connectors.does not have serial ata connectors. Its a desktop Samurai from Dick Smith about 4 years old. What type of 500gb hard drive can I install? So many [apparently] different types to choose from! Your advice would be appreciated. |

| 725976 | 2008-12-05 04:06:00 | go to elive in my sig, then hard drives, then standard(IDE ATA), theres a whole heap of IDE drives on offer. you may have to update you mobo's bios otherwise it wont recognise such a huge drive. cheers |

Seagate is generally the recommended brand, with a 5 year warranty, the highest production rates and lowest failure rates of any hard drive manufacturer. :thumbs: Your motherbord shouldn't have any issues seeing that size HDD, it's not too ancient. www.computerlounge.co.nz |

| 725978 | 2008-12-05 04:31:00 | You can probably add a card and put in a Sata Hard Drive (Seagate of course). You can get PCI and PCi-E cards depending on your motherboard's slots. You can get cards with 1,2,4 Sata or more or a combination of IDE/Sata. At least you will be able to use the Sata HDD's on your next PC if it is not too many years away. |

If you do this, you might also need sata power adapters, as your PSU probably only has hdd power connectors for ide drives. |
