516478 2007-01-16 17:30:00 Interesting article about Moore's Law...that states electronic sophistry will increase at a rate on a Bell-Curve, has been rent a new one: www.siliconvalley.com SurferJoe46 (51)
516479 2007-01-16 18:08:00 There is also Quad and Octo Cored chips on the coming and on the horizon from Intel so that should present an interesting combination. winmacguy (3367)

516481 2007-01-17 03:06:00 Perhaps a little clarification is in order...

This is not new transistors, but new ways to wire them...and that's the crux of the new tech.

If this nano wiring technique is applied to more things electronic, then the transistor quantum-numerology isn't phased at all. That opens doors for smaller boards and spaces between chips...ergo, faster elapsed time between components and less degradation of speed because of less distance between items. That's all.

I see miniature Cray Towers on boards now!
