515769 2007-01-14 05:26:00 Hi Team

I am currently restoring a vintage (well almost!) 1970's Technics SA-T670 FM/AM receiver-amplifier. At 100 watts rms per channel it was quite a blaster in its day.

I'm just about finished and it is looking like new and sounding great, but the FM receiver is a bit dicky on switching to stereo on some stations (OK on others) signal strength is OK so I want to adjust the threshold for muting stereo but don't have a service manual and I'm not game to upset the decoder by twiddling.

I've googled extensively (without results), so now I'm hoping that somebody out there has a manual tucked away, in fact almost any manual from any manufacturer of the period will do, provided they used the AN363N, AN217P, AN377 chipset. I can work it out from there.

Cheers

Sorry, I dont have a manual, but would love to see some pix of it!!

Might I suggest looking for people like this one:
spronkey.orcon.net.nz
And seeing if they happen to have a copy of a manual somewhere?

515771 2007-01-15 04:55:00 The AN377 apparently has an equivalent, the CA3089. There is a pdf datasheet for that available, which has some indication of how it works. "AN363 stereo" to (google.co.nz) gives some links which might be worth looking at. Repeating that search in "Groups" brings up a guy who had (in 1996) a manual for a unit using the AN363. I'll post some pix soon, I've just taken them for the Trade-Me ad. I'm not keeping it you see, it was a hobby interest project and Mrs T complains enough about sound levels from my current Technics amp so it will go to a worthy home at some time in the future. They don't sell for much, just a few hundred dollars, but better that than it just sit around doing nothing.

Unfortunately Spronkey's email is dead so there's no joy there, but I'll look at Graham's suggestion then if that doesn't help I'll tap into old industry connections. F&P were (are?) the Technics agent for NZ so who knows, they may even have a manual still, though I think it is out of warranty by now! :D

Cheers
