| 516600 | 2007-01-17 06:37:00 | Hi noone. Basically, Universities will rank you according to your best 80 credits over a maximum of 5 subjects. For each credit of Excellence, it carries a value of "4". So this means that the maximum GPA that you can get is 320 (80 x 4 = 320). If you get Merit, multiply it by "3"; Achieved, "2". If you get not-achieved, you multiple nothing. For my case, I have got 51 E credits, so I multiply it by 4, which gives me 204. Besides this, I have scored plentiful of Merit credits as well, but I am taking only 29 since the maximum is 80. As such, I multiple 29 by 3, which gives me 87. Add 204 and 87, I got 291. Since the maximum is 320, therefore by dividing 291 with 320 and multiply it by 100%, I got 91%. :D In total, I have got 51 E credits, 32 M credits, 27 A credits; I have lost 10 credits due to reasons like not-achieved and standards being removed. How about you, TEOR? :D Cheers :) I have no idea wot u talkin bout James...those results are confusing...Im school cert person and dont understand ncea.... |

| 516603 | 2007-01-17 06:59:00 | Ok Just figured out the Ndeva auckland system, Ive been approved to all my programmes : Health Sciences Enginerring Conjoint Engineering / Law Conjoint Engineering/ Commerce Atm it looks like i will do the last one. Marks Wise , 0% Not Achieved , 0% Achieved , 45% Excellence , 65% Merit. fark! so they have already decided who does/doesn't get into engineering? i'm afraid to look... i know, you don't go so i can :D maybe i should pretend i'm maori (actually would increase my chances of acceptance) EDIT, my NCEA results were OK, but ndeva says my applicatation staus is still "application", i think that means they aren't sure yet |

| 516607 | 2007-01-17 07:38:00 | I have no idea wot u talkin bout James...those results are confusing...Im school cert person and dont understand ncea.... it's not hard if you actually try to understand it rather than just downing it off the bat. the whole system is a bit complicated, simply getting your top 80 credits, multiplying and then finding a percentage is a pretty easy way to get yout GPA really (albeit not as simple as averaging results) |
