Cheers for that. I never could be bothered to look out towards the sky since I'm at about Sea level in South Auckland and surrounded by lots of houses and trees.

About what time was it taken. How long after sunset.
I tried looking tonight with a pair of 7x50 binoculars without any luck. There was quite a bit of high cloud around on the western horizon.

515972 2007-01-19 02:37:00 A couple of friends of mine saw it from Napier last night with the naked eye about a quarter to nine/nine oclock, and here I am didn't see a thing with my binoculars.

If you can see the Planet Venus move along to the left and according to the chart the comet should be about the same height.
