516536 2007-01-17 00:48:00 winmacguy, afraid not, according to this article, "Microsoft announced Friday it has hit the 100 million installation milestone for Internet Explorer 7, a figure that makes the new browser the second most used behind IE6."

Are people so undiscerning as to use the MS monstrosity rather than Firefox/Opera?

Why trash something that has never been rubbish...

Ive never once had a problem with any IE series of internet browser. Tell you what though, get damn sick of the firefocks fanboys harping on about how great it supposed to be.

516537 2007-01-17 00:54:00 That is probably all the forced downloads from the Microsoft Mothership to its vast user base. I thought it was all about "choice" mmmaybe not. winmacguy (3367)
516538 2007-01-17 01:01:00 i just wish I could remove ie7, but there in no option in add/remove and even with show updates selected, nothing!
its getting to the point now that when i click on an image to open it up in another widow, it won't.

ah well, it truely is a piece of crap

That would be the "seemless user experience" ;)
I am sure Micorsoft will get it right one day.

516540 2007-01-17 01:37:00 One day at the Firefocks development centre whilst putting together v2.

Programmer 1 : Hey, we have made the second version of firefox, nothing really seperates it from other browsers, how can we make it different

Programmer 2 : hmm, good point...What if we added a coffee maker to it ?

Programmer 1 : Nah, that won't work

Programmer 2 : hmmm, ok then, what about an instant ice maker ?

Programmer 1 : no no no, something a little more practical

Programmer 2 : SpellChecker ?

Programmer 1 : ZOMG, THAT IS IT!!! a spell checker, because over 80% of people who use the internets are dumb.

Programmer 2 : wow, reeli ?

Programmer 1 : Yeah. Now that's sorted, what should we put in V3 ?

Programmer 2 : SpellChecker V2 ?

516541 2007-01-17 01:42:00 Same thing could be said for most of the stuff MS puts out, only catch it most of the time it doesn't work until the second update. winmacguy (3367)
516542 2007-01-17 01:48:00 More like playing unsafe. :badpc:

Although I have IE6, I have Firefox as well.

516543 2007-01-17 04:17:00 Might be a good idea to use FF rather than IE6 then :) winmacguy (3367)
516544 2007-01-17 04:54:00 mode3, there is this, I have never used it so have no idea about what the ramifications may be:

Back it up then!

You seem more than capable of slagging off what could be termed a mildly successful company. I'm sure Mr Gates would value your input and advice; clearly he has a lot to learn.

So here you go. Teach him. Floor's yours. What is wrong with MS products, and what would you do to fix it?
