726180 2008-12-06 10:23:00 My Asus laptop has Spybot installed but could not immunized 100%. There's always some items unprotected. Tried to uninstalled and re-installed but doesn't help. OS: XP media centre edition with SP3 and all the latest updates. It used to immunize quite happily before.

Any suggestions?

It is useful to be careful with terminology.

You are speaking of Spybot S&D, the spybot remover. The S&D stands for "Search and Destroy".

bk T seems to have missed that point, or read your post to quickly.

My experience has been that when Spybot S&D is about to immunize my computer it tells me that I need to exit my browser (Firefox) before the immunization, or the immunization might be undone when the browser is closed later. I presume that this applies to other browsers as well.

I hope this helps :)

Right click on the desktop icon and click on run as administrator, this works.

Do you have ZoneAlarm installed?

If so:-
open ZoneAlarm

open Firewall

open Advanced

untick "Lock host file"

run "immunize" in Spybot

go back to ZoneAlarm and tick "Lock host file"

Remember these instructions as you'll have to do it each time you update Spybot
