517204 2007-01-18 06:53:00 This on ya PC or a standalone DVD Player?

Anyway, If its the only DVD that does it then its the DVD. Time for a refund.

517205 2007-01-18 06:57:00 Its a brand new movie, from the store that is being played on a standalone dvd .

Not tried it anywhere else, pc dvd or playstation . is it likely to happen in all machine types?

517206 2007-01-18 07:06:00 Why don't you try it on the PC and find out.
Do other DVD's work ok on the DVD player.
A little bit of logical thinking here would isolate the problem.

517208 2007-01-18 07:15:00 Yes It's a DVD problem, It will do the same in any player, If you can't stand the delay, return it to the store, but don't get a replacement because they will all be the same. Was it a cheap DVD ?

A lot of the time when a movie is converted from NTSC (American Tv standard) to PAL (NZ tv standard) there has to be an audio delay put in because both systems have different frame rates. NTSC 30 frames per second
and PAL has 25 frames per second. So I would say they didn't do the audio delay or the audio and video wasn't sync'd in the first place.

517210 2007-01-19 05:10:00 It's faulty, it doesn't perform the function it was sold to do. I'd take it back. pine-o-cleen (2955)
517211 2007-01-19 06:57:00 Not that I would agree with the opinion of course, but I heard that the feature of the audio delay was specifically for blondes, so that they had time to realise that someone was speaking, and the delay gave them the time needed to remember to listen?

Or perhaps I am just confused on that...
