518097 2007-01-21 21:24:00 Hi,

Just a question regarding RAID (mirroring).
What is the expiry time/date? If I install a software and after a few days/hours and I wished I not installed it am I able to get it back?

Or is RAID for disaster recovery boot ups and I should still also utilise a imaging software and copying individual files now and then :help: In that case I could consider a 3rd HDD or just partition the first HDD.

Thanks.

518098 2007-01-21 22:24:00 Raid is there to protect you against a failed disk, you will still need to backup to somewhere else (DVD, Harddrive ...) if you want to recover individual files. Use imaging software (Ghost, Acronis ...) if you want to roll back to a point in time. gcarmich (10068)
518099 2007-01-21 22:29:00 With RAID1 mirroring it happens in real time, so as already stated by gcarmich, you need to be doing a backup of your data to another medium as well.
RAID will only save you from hdd failures but if you say got a virus or you deleted something by mistake, a RAID setup won't help.
