517879	2007-01-20 22:05:00	:help: hi everybody, having trouble with connection (i'm with clear) it won't stay on line for any length of time sometimes it'll take up to 20 times to connect. i emailed clear a week or two back but no reply as yet, i almost need a new computer as i'm sitting here with a hammer, do you think it's me or just busy with holidays i'm seriously thinking of changing providers...thanks people:thumbs:	kenmac64 (11802)
517880	2007-01-20 23:55:00	What windows you using? Is this dialup? What error screen/message do you get? What I would do is create new windows login account (windows profile) and try to dial in from that. See if its a diff. I just did this and MSN Messenger works immediately, before with my old profile, I had to connect to MSN and cancel and redo for MSN. If that does not solve your problem, maybe go online at clear net and look for the window settings. In my experience with Clear Net (dialup) many times I had to dial in 2x or more to just to get in. For me it says no reponse by server or time out. I don't pop in the settings they say, I have win2k and all I do is create new dialup account and biff the login name and the password in and that is that, I dont go into other settings. This worked fine before from 1998 to 2006, but from late 2006 to now I need to redial to get in. Since I have reverted to Clear's usage base account $2.50 per hour, I don't use it, surprisngly I can still get my email from using a diff ISP. I have since got broadband with Xnet given their terms. Maybe, ask Telecom to do a line test for noise. If an issue they should fix it, but being Telecom I one time had this done for cross talk and then my dialup went from 42k to 14k or 9k and the guy said its v good ... and most pple dont even get that .. :D	Nomad (952)
