| 726900 | 2008-12-10 23:28:00 | I would recommend these graphic cards for a cheap and very good upgrade to be able to play your games with great detail and high settings for 95% + of the games out at the moment!!! From www.pricespy.co.nz ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB graphics card $291.38 ATI Radeon HD 4850 1GB graphics card $377.21 GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB PCI-Express $318.71 Ps. If you got any of these graphic cards then you would have to make sure you had a decent psu for them and they do require to be connected to the psu for extra power to run them, but the graphic cards are very good for gameing and would be worth it IMHO!!! Hi, while you right with regards to modern game etc, you are forgetting the OP res of 12x10 and the fact we arent dealing with a Core 2 cpu, therefore the cards listed above would be severely hampered by the cpu so much so that they would be starved of data from the cpu and run at perhaps only 50-60% of their capacity...... |

| 726906 | 2008-12-12 22:19:00 | Saw this one on Trademe - OK? You are bidding on an as new XFX Nvidia 8600 GT XXX Edition. What you see in the photos are what you are bidding for. (lost original box, but have all accessories included) This card fully supports SLI, DirectX 10.0 and Windows Vista. This card is designed for gamers. It will run all latest games at moderate or higher settings. Please see below how this card is factory overclocked by XFX, everything including the Core, Shader and Memory clocks are higher than the stock 8600GT cards, thus the so-called the XXX edition, so that it will beat any other 8600GT on the market. Great upgrade solution for mid-end gamers who do not wish to spend a fortune buying a new power supply to be able to run a newer video card, (you only need a 300W PSU to power this card and your whole system all together), and who do not have a very large case to fit the longer video cards. Specifications: Brand: XFX Model: PVT84JUDD3 Interface: PCI Express x16 Chipset Manufacturer: NVIDIA GPU: GeForce 8600 GT Core Clock: 620MHz (540Mhz reference) Stream Processors: 32 Shader Clock: 1355Mhz (1190Mhz reference) Memory Clock: 1600MHz (1400Mhz reference) Memory Size: 256MB Memory Interface: 128-bit Memory Type: GDDR3 Output Type: 2x DVI sarel |

Ram,ideally you want to get for example 2 x 1 gig 800 ddr2 ram sticks from the same manufacture, they dont have to be the expensive ones were they say matched pair blah blah for $$$$,just get 2 sticks at the same speed, same size, same manufacture,so like the cheapest 2 x 1gig ddr2 800 from Adata etc. 2. 86 GT = 8600GT Nvidia graphics card. -(old graphics card, not good for any good games).:groan: Go for the ATI 4850 graphic card or Nvidia 9800GTX+ graphic card to be able to play all your games sweet as for the Christmas break!!!:D Ps. You will want a good powersupply for those graphic cards as well, but it will be worth it to be able to use those graphic cards to be able to play 95% of games with great detail and high settings!!! |

| 726908 | 2008-12-12 22:49:00 | Nahnahnah there's no point in getting a graphics card that will be limited by everything else. I wouldn't waste the money to be honest, especially if you have a sempron processor. |
