726755 2008-12-09 03:55:00 I think CPUZ tells you the exact amount of memory under the SPD tab Blam (54)
726756 2008-12-09 04:01:00 judging from its age it *might* not be able to see more than 1.5GB ram in total - if you can find the motherboard manual it will be able to tell you but my hunch is that it physically cant see more than 1.5GB ram MAC_H8ER (5897)
726757 2008-12-09 05:10:00 It supports 4gb ram apparently. But I am not sure if it still might not be able to see more than 1.5 No1Daemon (13582)

I think it means it looks at the memory chip and finds out the specs and stuff

726761 2008-12-09 05:30:00 Sorry for the double post. I am onto it now.
I downloaded the cpuz program and it says I have a 512 in slot 1 and a 1024 in slot 2.
So have I been supplied the wrong ram?

Well 2x1Gb was supplied according to the first post and CPUZ says 512Meg + 1Gig.

Your onboard Video could be set to 512Meg in the BIOS as shared memory.

726763 2008-12-09 07:04:00 What happens if you put only each chip in one at a time?

Does it show 1GB or 512MB?
