I am trying to set up Win XP to receive faxes (my old fax m/c has died). My PC has an internal modem (Conextant D850 56k V.9x DFVc), but I connect to the 'Net via an external modem (ADSL 2+ router). I have checked out help on my PC (confused!) and I think I have to reset the Com port for the internal modem (it's on Com 3) but every time I try I get a message that another port is in use. Help and advice would be much appreciated. KB. |

Have you tryed conecting your modem directly to the phone jack & using dialup like we did in the old days. |

I can recomend a really good setup- fax to email and the other way round.For sending and receiving a reasonable amount per month it costs me between 10-20 dollars. If you want more info please pm me. |
