726722 2008-12-08 17:31:00 I have had a guts full of xnet. Download times are getting ridiculous. Last night I tried to download from a server in the Netherlands, 5 kbps! My download was going to take 53 hours.

Tried again at 4 am this morning. 109 kbps and it's going to take just under four hours.

Is there any ISP who can supply a faster service?

I notice ping time to xnet is 84. Ping xtra about 7.

Would replacing my router help? I have a Belkin. Dunno the model.

I've had a great run out of Kinect, a subsidiary of Trustpower .

Could be worth seeing what they have to offer in your area . ;)

726724 2008-12-08 21:09:00 Never been a fan of the Belkins, they're not the greatest... See if you can get one from somewhere that will let you return it... Not saying Ive done this (Of course not) but I know people who've "loaned" an item from DSE for a day or two for testing things like that ;)

I was getting over 720KB/s this morning at 8:30AM here in Aucks... = 5760kb/s = 5.625M/bits :D
Have screenshot as proof too, will post later

726726 2008-12-08 22:45:00 Xnet is OK here, in the mornings. its in the evenings that its slow as Speedy Gonzales (78)
726727 2008-12-08 23:35:00 Xnet has the new torrent plan. Its a night time plan. Thats why speed goes to crap then. pctek (84)
726728 2008-12-09 00:19:00 I've been looking around and, as bad as Xtra is in terms of reliability, service and lately speed too it seems, they're still the best in terms of price and allowance. I would like a faster ISP, but right now I'd personally have to pick monthly allowance over speed.

If I had more speed and less allowance I'd just end up running out quicker.

726729 2008-12-09 03:40:00 Xtra's starting to look quite attractive with 10gb a month.. Blam (54)

I am on Xtra at home at the moment. Im not paying for it. It's go large. I am impessed with the performance of it. As long as you don't need to call Xtra for anything you should be fine!

726731 2008-12-09 03:51:00 I'm considering the 40gb plan, has anyone else had/having good experiences with it? Blam (54)
