| 728343 | 2008-12-12 09:00:00 | I am upgrading RAM from 2 x 256Mb to 2 x 1Gb. Existing modules are DDR 333 Mhz. New modules - DDR 400 Mhz There are 4 slots in two pairs with 1 slot of each pair currently populated. My question is - do I simply remove the present modules and replace the new ones in the same slots or is there some other way I should go? As the original modules are 333Mhz, I guess I can't run the new 400Mhz ones as well as the originals? Any other fishooks I should watch out for. Processor is P4 2.4Ghz Motherboard ASUS P4 800 Thanks for any advice |

| 728344 | 2008-12-12 09:05:00 | I think the new modules will just clock back and run at 333mhz, but this may not be the case, and try to get the same brand RAM as you've got at the moment, as I think I heard somewhere that this can avoid lots of potential problems. | davidmmac (4619) | ||
| 728345 | 2008-12-12 09:29:00 | they will clock black davidmmac, as long as the modules are in the same color slots it should be fine | GameJunkie (72) | ||
