I now officially own one of the fastest workstations on the earth!! is currently running Windows Vista Ultimate and the performance is blistering. 2x 3.0GHz Dual Core Xeon (Thats right, 3GHz in each core!) 8GB of DDR2 ECC 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 1x 250GB HD, 3x 500GB HD in SoftRaid DVD SuperDrive but the best part of the package? the 23 inch Apple Cinema Display!! lol. And please understand that I need to have Windows- as much as I hate it, i have no choice |

Had a 16MHz 68020 CPU, a huge 30MB (yes, MB) hard drive (40MB was standard I think but I got a smaller one due to budget constraints - stupid), 4MB of RAM and a 256-colour 14-inch display. This beast (oh, and it was a beast in 1988) also cost me $18,000 and that was with a 25% discount via our work supplier. So you get a lot more Mac for your $18,000 nowadays. |
