| 519559 | 2007-01-29 10:26:00 | They got some pretty good deals at powerhouse here tonight, inc like 10% of laptops/desktops, and some discounted price on Office | noone (22) | ||
| 519560 | 2007-01-29 10:46:00 | Can anyone tell me the difference between Vista OEM and retail? As far as I know if I bought the OEM, all I will get is the DVD..... Is that all the difference? A retail has the pretty packaging, manuals, etc, and the OEM has the most important thing - the disc itself only, but at $500 cheaper than retail? |

| 519561 | 2007-01-29 12:02:00 | I would really like to go back to MSDOS 6.xx or PCDOS etc. No registry. Just config.sys and autoexec.bat and a few *.ini files. I was dragged kicking and screaming into Windows 3.11 at work. Time to put a few extra partitions on my two 200 Gig hard drives so I can multiboot several operating systems. This so I can run Commander Keen under MSDOS. I don't think that MSDOS will handle a USB joystick or USB mouse and keyboard so I will not bother. I know that MSDOS will not handle 4 Gigs of RAM. Oh for the days when MSDOS 3.3 came on a single floppy disc. |

An O/S that did nothing until you fed it a command. OEM is for new PCs only, you get the disk and a sticker. Retail is if you already have a PC with an O/S, you get a cardboard box with it too. According to Microsoft anyway........ |
