I don't think that's usual and while I don't want to make excuses, we are in the process of moving offices this week. The place is a complete disaster zone which may explain the lack of response. We have to be all packed up and ready to be shifted by this Friday...then all going well we walk into a shiny new office on Monday and all our stuff still works.

Which contact details did you try? The ones on this page for our circulation department?: fairfaxbm.co.nz

520294 2007-02-06 18:09:00 I just get PC Authority every now and then, it has by far the best, CD's of software I have seen anywhere .

PCworld, is really 'PC's for the newbie' it rotates the same types of newbie articles, 'how to . . . ' 'tricks / secrets for . . . ' 'buy a . . . '

I found after a year that as my computing skills/knowledge increased I grew out of PC World .

Just like that other little PC magazine (I forget the name, which is always more basic than PC World) you grow out of that first .

PC Authority is something you grow into . But the articles can be too specific to be of much practial use sometimes .

Just my 2c (no longer legal tender)

Try PC Authority . It's a computer mag . Not about telephones and cameras .

520295 2007-02-06 18:38:00 Hi Scott

Tried to get hold of Merlyn last week - got the numbers, etc. from a Bruce or Chris post earlier. No luck. See the same numbers and details on your list. Not very hopeful though. Moving office - tough, I actually received an email when I subscribed saying everything will happen "within a week" - well it did not. If I move offices I plan it such that I do not disrupt my normal work and contacts at all. So yes, you are making excuses.

520296 2007-02-06 19:26:00 Er, I fail to see what the big deal is then. If you'd _not_ received several editions then that may be a cause for concern, but receiving them a few days late is nothing to complain about in my opinion. It's proberly New Zealand Post's fault anyway.

But ofcourse, if you feel that it is a big deal go ahead and complain.

Edit: Err, where does it say that you're supposed to receive it before News agents?

What is the purpose of subscribing, if it's not to get it before it is available on news stands?

Sarel - please email me your details - name, phone no. etc - and I will ensure they are given to subs.

Well, like I said this isn't usual for our subs department. We've forwarded this post to Merlyn and when I see her making a cup of tea today I'll ensure she's sorted your situation before I let her put the milk in :)

520300 2007-02-07 01:18:00 Thanks for that guys - I'm not usually this grumpy (probably because I haven't read the mag yet)

520302 2007-02-07 03:09:00 Come on guys...and girls. Maybe PF1 is not the place to be discussing the place of PCWorldNZ in the scheme of magazine things. Remember they look after PF1 for free... we just have to look at the advertising :D

And I'm sure Scott and Bruce will sort Sarel's delivery problem/lack of contact with the Mother Ship ASAP despite being in the middle of moving house!
