520263 2007-01-29 08:58:00 The thing is that it works out cheaper in the long run to get a subscription.

And then there is the fact that sometimes it actually can come quite early.
In fact i got mine today.

Well mine ain't (it's taking a week!). Perhaps Metla is taking it from my letterbox; reading it for a few days before putting it back?!

Jen:
Your tone indicated to me, in my opinion anyway, that you felt strongly that I shouldn't be grizzling at all and I associated that with your position as a forum moderator.

You got all that from a posting. I didn't get that from Jens post.

520265 2007-01-29 09:26:00 People keep asking where does it say subscribers get it before it's retailed.
No answer to that yet.

So where does it say..?

And when was it on news stands, anyway - to know if it was actually late or not?
Lots of opinions & questions here with little actual info.

Nor did I. I thought Jen was being very helpful. Seems like Chemical Ali is reading what he wants into other people's posts.

This issue probably has nothing to do with PC World but more likely NZ Post.

520267 2007-01-29 09:55:00 Is that one of the things they advertise to subscribers, that you will get it before it is sent to their retailer?. Is there actually any incentive to subscribe, rather than to buy the editions that you want from the dairy, if it is delivered a week later than buying it from a retailer?.I think it's pretty much a given that a subscriber should be getting a better deal than a casual buyer. Apart from the convenience of having the mag delivered to your letterbox, what else, as a subscriber, would the benefit be? As a subscriber, the magazine has the use of your money well in advance of publication date...:2cents:

In a week IT news can be very out of date. This is what the Interweb is for... :p

520268 2007-01-29 10:07:00 I wonder what Chemical Ali really wants, is he suggesting that PC World should hold back the release to the distributors for a few days to ensure that NZ Post can keep up?

That would hardly be a recipe for business survival, the issue could be simply that the magazine distributors are getting more efficient than NZ Post . Just how PC World can influence NZ Post is an interesting case .

That anyone could even get mildly upset over such an "issue" is beyond me though . . . pun intended

Yes, it does have the money. But subscribers get a discount, so cheaper.

And there are the specials - free gifts, changing from month to month.

Interesting. Reply won't work without words in here. And my reply is in italics above.

This will be confirmed by photographic evidence and afadavit .
