728129 2008-12-12 19:11:00 They're also adding Blu-ray burning support, amongst other things. Not that that's a lot of use to me. :p pcuser42 (130)
728130 2008-12-12 19:27:00 Already got that on my XP machine thanks to burnaware free gary67 (56)
728131 2008-12-12 19:35:00 Same-most burners have blu-ray support these days, I doubt many will use the new one in SP2, it'll probably be too simple for the power user(and ripper) Blam (54)
728132 2008-12-12 19:42:00 The expensive burners support blu-ray.

I wouldnt say most do tho (the cheap burners dont)

728136 2008-12-13 00:02:00 It's installing HAL???

ZOMG, it's the beginning of the end.

I'm assuming that W7 will come with Skynet too?

728138 2008-12-13 04:54:00 Just a few figures from the Install:

Note: This PC has NO additional Software other than Vista - No AV, office Etc.

Vista SP1 Disk Size 11.9GB With SP2 16.3GB

Over All the machine appears faster, and more "snappy". - The test PC is Top of the line in power (www.imagef1.net.nz) and performance  Yeah right !!

With Vista SP2 it "feels" the about the same speed as the PC when using XP SP3.

Network Discovery  MASSIVE improvement - With SP1 about 10 - 20 seconds to run across With SP2 less than 2 seconds

Opening files from Vista on a Xp PC over the LAN - I would actually go as far as saying its faster than my XP's

File transfer rate over the LAN Comparison ->

SP1 697Mb File - From Vista to XP then XP to Vista Same speed- transfer rate 8.4-8.6 MB/ Sec

SP2 - Same file From Vista to XP 11.3MB/sec From XP to Vista 9.8MB/sec
