520893 2007-01-31 07:16:00 None of the other ISPs with ads on TV mentioned the small print either.

Although Slingshot have lately taken to saying "as fast as your line allows".

I haven't noticed the others.
My brain normally filters out such ads.

So I guess Xtra's lures for Go Large were so attention-grabbing (read expensive here) that they were harder to miss.

520894 2007-01-31 08:07:00 Really? How biased. What about people having slow downloads with other ISPs....

Other ISP's have to buy their services through Telecom. If Telecom is having it bad with reduced connection speeds, so are the others that have to connect through them.

I am on a Slingshot 2MB plan because my line doesnt support anything above that (and normal for me is 1.8Mb) and as I type this I am getting "Your line speed is approximately 963.1 Kbps or 118 K bytes/sec".

So tell me that Telecom's problems aren't affecting other ISPs.
We are all caught in the same trap!

520895 2007-01-31 19:03:00 Yes most ISP's depend on Telecom for the network.

Really Telecom's advertsing for Go Large verges on staright out Lies and they should be had up in court !

Lastly if TVNZ intervew someone from Teleom they should ask them what new equipment are they installing right now and where and what new equipment are they planning to install next year.

Eg ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL ?
