519754 2007-01-28 01:44:00 Here is the original thread which contained the indexes of the CDs starting from Dec/Jan 2002 to early 2004 - see here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz). Bruce mentions which CD contains the compiled CD list so I will see if I can find it and upload it somewhere. Jen (38)
519755 2007-01-28 01:59:00 Found it! May 2004 CD. :D

It was in a CVS format so I have uploaded it as plain text as ImageF1 doesn't accept CVS.

PCW CD Index - listed alphabetically (www.imagef1.net.nz)

PCW CD Index - listed by month (www.imagef1.net.nz)

519756 2007-01-28 04:00:00 That's useful.
Thanks, Jen.
Time for another nudge in Bruce's ribs. We could do with an update.

519757 2007-01-28 04:14:00 Or, you could get the index from the [INDEX] directory on any recent PCWorld CD.
I keep the CD's back to 2001 beside the desk, older ones are in a dark drawer (somewhere).

If there is an index on each CD then that solves our problems.

I will check one out.

I have most of them back to 2001.

519760 2007-01-28 09:58:00 Most of them also back to 2001, most of them i hardly ever use but they are just there.

Keeping the mags are good though, they provide a good read now and then (especially the pre 2000 ones_

519761 2007-01-28 09:59:00 If we are doing a new index... why not make it a page on FAQF1? That way it will be both searchable, and easy to update. Erayd (23)

That’s what I was thinking, & I may put that to Bruce when I e-mail him latter on in the week.

Yes I keep the mags as well, and every power bill I have ever had ! (my first one was in 1970 for about $ 4.50 for the month ! ) and every bank statement I have ever had. And I am think I have got to get rid of some of this stuff as I am becoming known as a bit eccentric !

As regards the mags being a good read, yes they are, but it is a question of find ing the time to read them, but certainly the ones where they go through 100 issues of etc (which show the history of PC's make fantastic reading eg a 386 computer for $10,000)
