| 727523 | 2008-12-10 23:42:00 | My Athlon pc crashed and I reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition and programs ok. I reinstalled NVidia and network connections show it is connected at 100 mbps as usual BUT when I open Firefox I get the message "Firefox can't find the server at en-us.start2.mozilla.com". The same with Mailwasher - "No such host. Ensure that thePOP3 server is correct." No problems with my other computer which accesses the internet as usual. I am on Slingshot Broadband and not had any problems with them or the Dynalink modem. What else can I try? | Krad (7878) | ||

He talked me through the procedures to no avail but finally said to shutdown Zone Alarm. Presto! Problem solved. Problem returned when Zone Alarm turned back on so uninstalled that version and updated to newer version. All's well. |
