| 727488 | 2008-12-10 21:46:00 | Hey, I am trying to upgrade my Vista Business x64 to SP1 but keep getting the same error. If I do it through Windows Update it gets to 19% and gives me the 80070002 code error. If I download thhe 700MB file it gets close to the end of the intall and then gives me some other error, saying that there might be two version of the update running or something. Anyway, I've tried following the Microsoft solutions, to delete contents of the Download and DataStore folders in SoftwareDistribution but still get the same errors. Anyone got any ideas? I'm really not too keen to re-install and if it comes to that I will rather live without SP1 :) Thanks, Gregor |

Anyway I downloaded: -System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista for x64-based systems (KB947821) Ran the file, it updated, took quite a while actually and then I opened the 700MB SP1 after that (no restart in-between) . The only other thing I did differently is unchecked 'restart computer automatically' in the SP1 wizard . Everything worked fine and the cool thing is I did everything through a VNC session :) Thanks anyway, Gregor |
