728364 2008-12-12 11:00:00 Opera has the option of disabling animated images.
Does Firefox have this? Perhaps a plug in?

728366 2008-12-12 11:15:00 Type about:config into the address bar and find the image.animation_mode option. Change it's value to 'none' to stop animations altogether, or 'once' to have them play only once.

Edit: That's if you mean animated gifs and such.

Thanks. Yes - animated gifs, not flash - I already have AdBlockPlus.

[edit - later] It works. Now no more annoying avatars on KiwiBiker. But it would be nice to have a quick option button to turn the gifs back on as in Opera. I'll have a look in FF plug ins.

Looks good but: "This add-on is for older versions of Firefox" - not for FF3. :(

728373 2009-02-06 00:48:00 Hi guys,
I came across an indispensable tool for the job called Prefbar (prefbar.mozdev.org). This tool enables you to disable images (either static or animated), Flash animation and JS with the tick of a box!

I like having everything in one package - oh, and it supports version 3.0 of the browser..
