| 522349 | 2007-03-03 00:48:00 | An alternative view.........Augie Auer ....www.nzcpd.com Bah. He's just a right-wing extremist with a vendetta against what he thinks is a 'green' plot to take over the world. I bet he also doesn't believe in evolution. Must be just an attention seeking nutcase. I can't see any reason why anyone would question the science, which is 100% proven and verified now by the world's body of experts on climate change. Civilisation is doomed unless we shut these naysayers up and get on with saving the planet. :D |

| 522350 | 2007-03-03 04:33:00 | Well, here's why I question the whole thing and Im getting sick to death of the scaremongering too. As far as Im concerned it is utter C..P which fits into the same category as the Y2K bug and the Bird Flu Pandemic. Remember at the millennium how all the computers were going to crash, water wouldnt run, sewerage was going to flow up hill and pour all over the bathroom floor, planes would fall out of the air, cars with computers wouldnt start and so on and on and on .. The Government appointed a Y2k Commissioner (who still had his nose in the trough a year after the event), spent millions on advertisements, but come the day, I grab a Herald to see if I was still alive and find headlines about how a computer in a Video Store in America had crashed. The programme they were using was written by a local High School kid who had quickly fixed his oversight. Big Deal! Then we had the Bird Flu which was going to kill half the population. Off goes the Government and buys millions of dollars worth of vaccine which they still have. However, there was no money for Cancer patients, they were left to die. So lets examine the latest Global Warming Bu.l S..t. I say the earth is cooling not warming! The supporters of Global Warming say Icebergs floating off Dunedin was evidence. I say it is evidence of Global Cooling, as otherwise they would have melted before they got here! ;) The supporters of Global Warming say the oceans will rise as the Icebergs melt. I say they would drop because water expands as it freezes. (Thats why you put antifreeze in cars) ;) And if that isnt enough, I hear on the news how some gripper Headmaster has solved the imaginary obesity epidemic by banning Girl Guide biscuits. Talk about the insane running the asylum. |

| 522353 | 2007-03-03 06:34:00 | Ok start saving and the rest of us will get on with our lives without nanny state interferring again . . Eek . How can you possibly be so ignorant and not want to save the planet??? All you evil global warming deniers probably also believe that 911 was a conspiracy and the moon-landings never happened . And let's not even mention what you lot make of the Iraq war, you nutty bunch of oil-barrel huggers you . Stop having an opinion . The science is 90% perfect according to the IPCC and that should be good enough for anyone . In fact . Close this thread immediately . All further discussion must end because the world is warming up fast (see proof here ( . nzherald . co . nz/section/1/story . cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10426750" target="_blank">www . nzherald . co . nz)) and there is no time to waste!:angry  |

This bears out what the coalition said in July 2006 in its open letter to members of the New Zealand Parliament, when we pointed out that NIWAs own data showed little evidence of warming, and no evidence that humans are affecting the temperature, says a statement from the coalition . Perhaps now, MPs and other Kiwis will pay more attention the following points made in our open letter at that time: New Zealand may be no warmer in 2006 than it was in 1800 . According to temperature records from NIWA, New Zealand has not experienced significant warming in the last 50 years . |

| 522355 | 2007-03-03 07:20:00 | Oh no no no . :groan: You can't quote from the Climate Science Coalition . :horrified They're all paid by those nasty, greedy oil-barrel huggers at Exxon to try and deny the truth of global warming . It's true because I read it at exxonsecrets . org (http://exxonsecrets . org/), a very honest and reputable site associated with the world's saviors, Greenpeace . Not only that but none of the literature is peer-reviewed so it just cannot possibly be taken seriously . ;) :D  |

It happens when The Man in the... has trouble with his bicycle chain. Or he may just prefer feeling full in your area. More takeaways there..? (No sillier than some of the stuff in this thread) |
