521770 2007-02-06 05:34:00 Exactly, DSE and the people who work there (most of the time) are useless...

I am not sure about C1 though... I have heard bad things, though I have never personally brought from them...

c1 is good, they've never stuffed me up yet :)

and the link is http://c1com.co.nz, sorry:blush:

521772 2007-02-07 07:10:00 Ascent, QMB, and if you want great service - TasTech

only time I tried I got NO service. Ascent rocks.

521773 2007-02-07 20:32:00 Ascent are also great with discounts - you get a discount for paying using direct debit or whatever and if you buy enough parts to build a complete computer (case mobo cpu gfx card and ram) they give you another discount for that too :D MAC_H8ER (5897)
521774 2007-02-08 03:45:00 yep, have to agree, cant fault ascent.
Although I have brought from many other online stores when the price was significantly cheaper and havent had any problems so far.:o touch wood!

521775 2007-02-08 05:29:00 I know Ascent are good. Plenty of peope here to back that up. But to say they have free freight is stretching it. The freight is built into the price - which is why their prices are usually significantly dearer than others.

Either way - you are still paying for freight - whether it says so at the end of your order or not.

521776 2007-02-08 11:19:00 c1shopping mall also has "free" freight for orders over $500, and discounts awarded on a points system... but you'd need to sped a pretty large amount of money to get anything notable

they do sell actually good prebuilt gaming systems though

521778 2007-07-24 12:07:00 It's interesting to read the comments posted on this thread. I'm planning to build a high end gaming pc around NZD2000+ without speakers and keyboard. Right now I'm wondering whether I should buy pc components off retail stores in Auckland or to buy all the parts online. By comparing the cost from Ascent.co.nz and other online store, I can tell that it is more expensive to buy from there.

Components to be bought within 2 weeks:

Motherboard: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 nForce 570 SLI
HD: 400gb SATA Hard Drive
Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 226BW 22" 1680x1050 2ms, DVI
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, dual core, socket AM2, 3GHz
Graphics Card: Geforce 8800 GTS, 320MB, PCI Express
Memory: Kingston 2gb ram
PSU: Thermaltake Pure Power TR2 550W
Case: Not chosen

I need some recommendation to choose where to buy the suitable components for the right price.

521779 2007-07-24 12:26:00 I'd like to put forward C1com as a decent provider of computer goods. They have my personal recommendation as they provide basic, no frills service, but are reliable, and are relatively cheap. Neongreen (6358)
