521224	2007-01-31 23:27:00	Lmao. The video cards used in Mac's are crippled, The clock speed is lower then the PC equivalent. For the price you would pay for a reasonably capable Mac games machine you could buy a PC twice as powerful (as far as eye candy and FPS are concerned) Furthermore development of OpenGL stalled years ago, Its not capable of what Directx is, Granted the best in the bizzo like Carmak (sp?) can do well with it but thats an exception. There are plenty of Mac games on the market, and they run like utter rubbish, Far worse then they should, History is on my side of the argument. Am I thick?....Are you worthy of making that judgment? Now, I'm in no doubt that Apple could make a reasonable games machine, But it would take far more then just coding a game in OpenGL, It would require a change in hardware, software, price, and attitude. You will of course prove that the reported clockspeeds of comparable video cards in Macs are in fact wrong, and that well, Everyone that has looked into the issue is stark raving mad and untrustworthy. You will show how paying more for a machine that runs games slower is a good idea, Perhaps lower spec video cards are a value adding device, This of course makes someone buying a PC for the same price and double the gaming performance a thicko. Then you will show how development for OpenGL didn't just drop to a slow ebb around the same time DX7 was released. Then you can explain to us why so many games (openGL games) for the Mac have to be run at 800x600 and low detail even when the hardware should be enough to push them along at the same pace as a PC would,	Metla (12)

Hell if I was a gamer there is no way I would be playing them on a mac, and I'm a mac user. Not sure about the intel mac's for gaming but I presume that was what Metla was talking about. If it was me I would buy a console or build one specific for gaming.	plod (107)
