| 729014 | 2008-12-14 20:21:00 | Hi All. Standalone Imation DVD Multi player. Asus In box CD player. I have backed up the computer onto DVD+RW from the Imation. When I put one back in to play/check it, the comp locks up. If I put a "Bought" DVD or CD into either player, the comp locks up. If I put any other "Home Made" CD or DVD into either player, they work. Any help with this? PJ |

| 729015 | 2008-12-14 20:29:00 | So whats the Imation?? Internal or external? If its internal, what else is it connected to? If its connected with something else, did you jumper it properly? Sounds like its conflicting with something |

| 729017 | 2008-12-14 20:39:00 | Speedy...Just thort of something. The original DVD/CD player had a disk explode in it & ruined it. I replaced it with an old CD only player. I think the problem may have started from then. Cannot clearly remember. PJ | Poppa John (284) | ||

It works fine mechanically & sometimes with a disk. I know that you do not like RWs but I am commited to them. I had NO problems using them until tis glitch appeared. PJ |

| 729021 | 2008-12-14 21:59:00 | OK I think the Imation is shot. Unplugged power, USB lead both ends & put into front USB slot. Does not apear on My Computer. Tried another USB lead & port & does not appear on My Computer. This Imation was connected to the computer previous to this one, where the PSU blew up & took everything with it. Altho' the Imation has worked since then. Don't know the size ot this PSU but I suspect that it is a 350w. Belarc did not show it. PJ |

| 729022 | 2008-12-14 22:10:00 | Hmm 350w maybe a bit low, depending on what else is in the case I dont think Belarc or any program will tell you what the watts is for a PSU. You'll have to open the case, to check it If you plug it into any of the front ports, does the BIOS detect it? If it doesnt it could be faulty (or disabled in the BIOS). If nothing else works in either port Do any of the USB ports work at all? |

No problems with any of the USB outlets. Don't know how to find the Bios. In MY Computer, Devices with removable Storage, the Imation does not appear. PJ |
