522413 2007-02-04 01:07:00 That might be a marketing ploy to promote additional sales of 3rd party RAM...? winmacguy (3367)
522414 2007-02-04 01:09:00 More RAM costs more money, so they can get the price down more. Remember the PC market is purely price driven :waughh: dolby digital (5073)
522415 2007-02-04 01:26:00 100% agreed which is why Dell is struggling so much (OK, I know a lot of people on this forum don't hold Dell in any sort of regard but they are a major PC seller) winmacguy (3367)
522416 2007-02-04 01:52:00 harvey norman are idiots.

and the people who sell stuff their are trained to be idiots.

522417 2007-02-04 02:21:00 Going by their last financial results I'd say that Harvey Norman are quite successful idiots. winmacguy (3367)
522418 2007-02-04 02:57:00 Lol, they are successful idiots indeed. :P qazwsxokmijn (102)
522419 2007-02-04 03:34:00 Yet another good reason to shop at dse.co.nz and trademe.co.nz. :D pcuser42 (130)
522420 2007-02-04 03:44:00 Umm ... I'm of the opinion that it’s not the sellers at fault here but the naive PC buying public. Most people buy a PC on price, they understand very little about the features.
Take the 256MB of ram that’s sold in a lot of PCs (yep the cheap and cheerful ones) – yes it will run windows XP home fine, if that’s all it is running, once you add AntiVirus, AntiSpyware, office suit and the rest of the stuff non techie users tends to load the whole thing comes grinding to a halt.

I'm really happy with the price of my Yamaha DVD player from there (they can bulk buy)
