523609 2007-02-13 09:32:00 Hey Sherman

How do you fix the joysticks, as I have 3

One works properly
one only goes left to right
one goes forward and back only

Is there anything i should try to get them work?

What makes you think I know anything about joysticks???
What I should have said was that I was going to pull mine to pieces, hav a fiddle with the insides, then put it back together and see if it worked.

It now goes in 3 of 4 directions...

523610 2007-02-17 08:59:00 hey Sherman I don't know if you are still following this thread

But if you have the 501 memory expansion for your Amiga (the bit that goes in the trapdoor underneath), you may want to remove the battery from it as I checked my 3 501s today and 2 had badly corroded leaking battery's

see this thread (eab.abime.net) for more info

523611 2007-02-17 10:35:00 Yeah I am still following this thread.
I do indeed have the A501 memory expansion.
I must admit that I have never thought of battery corrosion being an issue, in fact, I havn't ever reaally thought about the battery at all (since I was just a wee kid at the time we got it.
Unfortuanately I can't check mine at the moment, as the amiga is in new plymouth, and I am now (more or less) permantly based in Palmerston north...

Its a bit of a shame really, becouse at the time we got the amiga, neither the parents or the sisters (both older than me) weren't interested in games, and I was too young at the time to really be into games (ok, I was probably only 4 or 5 at the time...) so I don't have any real decent games for it.
The games that I did enjoy have either gone corrupt, or have dissapeared over the years :annoyed:

Im actually quite amazed at how the machine has just kept on working over the years. Its been neglected, kept in a dusty basement, had years between being powered up...

523612 2007-02-17 18:16:00 Yup, I found out the hard way.

Mine when I had it leaked all over the mobo and killed it.

I knew something was up when it kept crashing on bootup, opened it up and it wasnt a pretty sight.
