522682 2007-02-04 22:16:00 To be honest, I'm more than happy with 3.5mbit connection, as long as P2P is shaped at on-peak times as it's claimed to be.

I don't know why telecom is increasing the speed when they can't even handle the usage a mere 3.5mbit-7.6mbit makes.

522683 2007-02-04 22:22:00 Yeah, I'm happy with my download speed. I would like a bit faster upload though. mejobloggs (264)
522684 2007-02-04 22:42:00 qazwsxokmijn & mejobloggs, you two must be the only ( there could be more thought) PressF1 members who are happy with there download speeds! stu161204 (123)

522686 2007-02-04 23:37:00 That doesn't surprise me, telecom dont even know what day it is let alone whats happening in the way of upgrades on their own network. Hitech (9024)

I mean unconstrained, full 3.5mbit!!! And that must apply for P2P during off-peak hours at least.

522688 2007-02-05 01:20:00 ADSL2+ is going to do nothing for anyone unless there is a corresponding increase in the upload speed.
The reason so many people above mention 3.5 ~ 4 Mb/s, is that that is the fastest that TCP downloads can be acknowledged.

Telecom's marketing division can rave as much as they like about "faster speeds" but it won't mean a thing without a big jump in that upload speed.
[which they don't want to do as it will make all those VoIP nasties eat into their PSTN revenue.]

522689 2007-02-05 03:29:00 I see a Tui billboard come into place. :D

Not likely! Telecom and DB use the same ad agency :P .. otherwise.. I could write up a couple hundred on my own!!

522690 2007-02-05 06:54:00 I just want my broadband to be unlimited, there's no point downloading with a high speed internet when you are on a 10g or 20gb plan. They should let us download up to 60~100gb per month. msnforum (11610)

I just want high speed internet!!, as I dont count 100KB/s + or = that high speed internet!
