729886 2008-12-17 00:45:00 Other than using the character map, is there a way I can easily make the £ character using a laptop? I usually use the alt code system and numerical keypad when I am using the desktop.

Thanks,
Marnie

Looks like back to the character map.

729891 2008-12-17 05:56:00 In what program are you trying to use the pound sign? As in word you can go to insert symbol and then choose the pound sign it also tells you what to press next time to duplicate it. gary67 (56)
729892 2008-12-18 06:36:00 Hi gary,
I have no problem using the insert and pound symbol using ms word. For example, when I am sending an email via outlook express, I can't find the insert symbol in that program. It's not a huge deal, but I just thought it would save me using the character map.
Thanks for your help.

And create a shortcut key for it?
