730887 2008-12-19 05:03:00 Have got an Asus A6Q00VC here with an 80Gb drive factory-partitioned into C: & D: (XP Pro is on C:\ ).

Every time I boot up, Windows wants to run chkdsk on the D: partition

I've manually started a chkdsk -F, which ran on reboot, but it's still doing it??

730889 2008-12-19 06:15:00 Try Running chkdsk /x that forces the program not to run next time. wainuitech (129)

730891 2008-12-19 15:51:00 try this:

1. Go to cmd
2. type "fsutil dirty query D:"
3. If the return message indicates that the volume is dirty go to step 5
4. Next type "chkdsk D: /f /x"
5. After that finishes repeat step 3.
6. If it is no longer dirty then reboot.

Oh, and check msonfig for "chkdsk" if its there, untick it
