| 730796 | 2008-12-18 22:08:00 | I have a quad core cpu and am looking for EXPERT advice on core useage. I can set it to use all four cores or I can set it to use 1 core for windows and the other three for gameing. If I have it shareing all four cores the windows core is always running at 95/100% useage If I use the second option the windows core is only running at up to 10% and the other three about 50/90% With the first option, if windows needs more will it smoothly use other cores or will it resort to page file? Or will it just lock up? I'm inclined to think windows will just give up as I have had lock ups on occasions. But I get the odd lock up with the second option too. Any thoughts on the subject? Thanks, Jack |

These won't be caused by your cpu management. Are you overclocking? Something is getting overstressed/overheated. BTW, paging is a memory thing, not a cpu usage thing. |
