525207 2007-02-16 11:04:00 Oops. How much is Vista again.

What's the bet the real new GUI and the new file system ends up in Vienna.

I think you're spot on re ME Met's. It'll be the OS that never quite makes it, no matter what patches are applied, it'll be a stop gap with a very few fiercely loyal adherents; the early adopters who's egos require they remain blind and deaf but not mute, MS won't give a flying F about it once they start touting the new system, the corporate subscribers will have to wear it and cough up yet again too.

Vista, a giant con to keep the bottom line in black and the stock market happy while MS implements what they dropped out of Longwait in a shiny new innovative™ OS.

525208 2007-02-16 18:46:00 I must admit, when we were at our windows training night for work, the microsoft guy there did mention a few times features that were expected to be in vista that are now pushed back to "the next windows", he even mentioned work was well under way on it.

Somehow I dont believe vista will achieve the longevity that xp managed.
