730700 2009-01-03 06:31:00 If both ends of the video path support HDCP then all in-line components must support HDCP. If an in-line component is not HDCP compliant the behaviour varies at the whim of the manufacture, but they should show a message on screen or fall-back to non HDCP mode.

If one end does not support HDCP then it will not be activated at either end, in which case the in-line components do not have to support HDCP.

From what I can figure out is that if HDCP is not active then "restrictions" on the video quality are imposed, what depends on the manufactures whims.

730701 2009-01-03 06:48:00 You have to get a picture before video. Thats the main prob, there is no pic to watch or see anything

HDCP may have restrictions, but you should see a picture at least

730702 2009-01-04 21:36:00 I found out that it is my TV that is the problem - it just doesn't like ATI video cards for some reason :badpc:

I took my computer & HDMI cable round to my sister's house & it worked on her plasma.

If the card came with a DVI/HDMI adapter, try that in the DVI connection on the card
