730638 2008-12-18 11:05:00 Make sure that you're in an ADSL2+ area before you join the plan.
I recommend this router, as it has wireless and wired hub plus a USB port to hook up your printer/hard drive.

Cheap too, at 88 dollars. It was 55 dollars once though:p
Then again, times have changed:D

730640 2008-12-18 13:10:00 so my built in 3 in 1 WiFi LAN adapter on my motherboard is useless in that setup?
Yes and no.
Just make sure the router you get includes more than two ethernet ports, 4 is standard now.
Run ethernet cables to both, easy.

If you want to go wireless, get a wireless router, would also recomend it also has 4 ethernet ports.
Ethernet to your sons computer, wireless to yours.
This is also easy to setup, but some people have problems with wireless, just need to browse around this forum.
I would only use wireless for a laptop or where it would be awkward to run ethernet to a desktop.

It will need an ethernet port, it may have on on-board or a add in PCI card.
