Guess you are piggybacking !! :groan: :waughh: Want a free program as well, try FREE SOUND RECORDER (www.download.com). Have not tried this myself. My Toshi has been disabled. Don't really need it. Suggest you use a headset to prevent any sources of freeback. Let us know how yah get on. Hope this helps anyway. BURNZEE |

| 730554 | 2009-02-21 11:15:00 | Hi Midnighter not to mention my laptop is not that old why would the hardware not support this option. That's the guts of the problem, your hardware does support what you want perhaps you missed this: Be aware most modern laptops have their Stereo Mix disabled by the manufacturers because of copyright concerns. Ok, here's my best shot. Hack a USB headset. Solder in a matching cable so an walkman can be attached. Simply a matter of playing the music at the right volume while you sing into the microphone!!   :groan: Goto HERE (www.instructables.com). You have to spent some money  but hey, them's the breaks!! BURNZEE |

| 730556 | 2009-02-22 01:11:00 | Hi Midnighter Don't know if you are having me on, being awkward or are not reading correctly . Please read the following carefully: Hack a USB headset . Solder in a matching cable so an Walkman can be attached . Sure you know what a Walkman is . Perhaps I should have suggested an Ipod!! Do not use the computer's CD/DVD Drive . If you do this then you, A: Won't need Realplayer, B: Won't need a musical Instrument, C: Won't need to play the aboveformentioned musical Instrument . D: Control the volume of the music using the Ipod's volume control . Question 1: if my stereo mix is on and I'm using a USB headset microphone . . . and lets say I'm talking to u in a chatroom will u hear me and the music I'm playing through realplayer ??? ANSWER: Don't know try it . If you put in a USB connection, yes . The Ipod music and the microphone are in parallel . Question 2: <Off topic> when i slide the master volume up and down i get this annoying loud 'beep' how can i get rid of that ?? ANSWER: Goto HERE ( . howtogeek . com/howto/windows/turn-off-the-annoying-windows-xp-system-beeps" target="_blank">www . howtogeek . com) Question 3: Where will the USB headset show up . . . in the Realtek HD input or Realtek HD output ??? ANSWER: It will not show in the Realtek Sound Manager at all . Instead it appears in the SOUNDS AND AUDIO DEVICES in the Control Panel . In the VOLUME,AUDIO and VOICE Tabs . BURNZEE |

| 730557 | 2009-02-23 14:28:00 | sorry if im annoying you.... i guess my problem is un solvable....anyway i tried everything i could to make stereo mix and mix work together.. Heck i installed vista over the weekend ....dual boot it with xp and still had no luck... vista ended up crashing for some reason and now i have a unallocated partition of 70 GB to fix back into the main memory haha... but thas a discussion for another day You have been very helpful sir...i will conclude that my hardware does not support stereo mix & mic at the same time... i wud purchase a USB mic in the near future and see how that works out... thx a lot for ur help :) |
