Hope this is enough info.

PC: HP Pavilion d2400, Intel 2.0 mhz Core 2, Asus MB, 3 gb ram, SATA 500 gb hd, XP Pro with all updates, SATA CD/DVD DL burner w/litescribe, 4 6 usb ports, media card reader. I am currently using Win Media Player 11, V: 11.0.5721.5230.

I want to record music from Internet stereo radio stations to my HD in a format that I can burn CD's, so I can listen to the music in my home stereo room,or my Toyoto w/6CD changer or Madza with single CD player.

Just like like I did with a large reel to reel studio audio tape recorder. It should be quite simple, 1) record streaming audio from the net to HD, 2) Edit, separating each track by putting a blank 1,2,3, second space/fade between each song or movement as necessary, 3) then burning to a CD that will play in an standard CD player, car or home.

731198 2008-12-20 21:14:00 Welcome to PF1 -- Try Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) - it will record any sounds coming from your PC/ Speakers.

Before someone else jumps in and starts jumping up and down - some may say that this is pirating - its a real gray area.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will be recording music in the public domain...classical, baroque, etc. for use in a car CD player. This should be OK.

It looks like I have to do some research to get output ready for CD burning???

Thanks,

HW
