| 731149 | 2008-12-20 02:20:00 | hi all, recently been at a neighbors house, comp was having problems. installed superantispyware, malwarebytes, spyware terminator and ccleaner, which found about 500 infections. the AV is AVG free, what she wants to know is this a good enough AV or is there another which would do a better job? cheers |

| 731150 | 2008-12-20 02:25:00 | IMO AVG and Avast! are just as good, but to avoid quarrel and disagreements with other members of the forum I'll say this: "Get Avast!, its much better than AVG" All the programs you've installed SuperAntiSpyware, MBAM, Spyware Terminator etc, keep them on the computer, and tell the user to scan weekly. Post a HijackThis log here so we can make sure there's nothing left. If its a general maintenance then do a defrag too, with JKDefrag, Auslogis Disk Defrag or Defraggle |

Why not just come out and say "Avast!" - which I agree is the best :) |
