731134 2008-12-19 21:57:00 Hi to all, well I have a laptop with windows vista home and Malwarebytes installed, today I wanted to update malwarebytes database but I tells me the programs was unable to update cuz either im not connected to the internet or my firewall is not allowing it. Since I am obviously connected to the internet then I went and allowed malwarebytes on my firewall but it still gives me the same error.

Anyone knows how can I fix this? Thanks in advance!!

731135 2008-12-19 22:00:00 You could try turning the firewall off altogether, then turning it on when you've finished. davidmmac (4619)
731136 2008-12-19 22:02:00 Some times their servers are down and that happens - other times you have to select a different server.

There could also be other malware in the PC that is stopping it from updating (thats the most common cause) - get spyware terminator from my sig, install and run in full scan mode - then retry Malwarebytes

If that fails then try uninstalling Malwarebytes and reinstalling it.

I've just installed MWBytes this morning so am interested to see what the outcome of this is.

731138 2008-12-19 22:05:00 Well I tried the other mirror, I tried turning off the firewall and nothing worked, so I uninstalle and reinstalled again malwarebytes and it updated by it self, but then I tried to run the update mannually and it gave me the same error again.

On my desktop with XP it updates manually fine so im guesing its something with vista.

731139 2008-12-19 22:12:00 I would try putting the exact error message into google - often get a fix that way. mark c (247)
731140 2008-12-19 22:14:00 Already did that but nothing good came out of it. JOYBEBA6679 (10686)
731141 2008-12-19 22:15:00 That error usually means its update servers are down.

I had the same error here the other day. It wont be a firewall prob, as I'm not using one here. That error still comes up.

You'll just have to wait till theyre up again (if both are dead)
